Huawei has been teasing a new smartphone launch in India for a while. Many believed that the company would unveil the Honor 7X but now, Honor smartphone’s official Twitter account has “accidentally” revealed that Huawei will unveil the Honor 9 in India on 5th October.

The brand's new high-end device is a 5.15-inch display, Full HD (1080p) smartphone with a 3D curved glass back which gives it a high shine. In terms of power, it has a Kirin 960 chipset and 4GB of RAM. But its big selling point is its camera, which on paper is similar to that of the Huawei P10, without the "Leica" stamp, but almost 200 euros cheaper.

The camera is dual-lens, with a 20 MP monochrome sensor and a 12MP color one. That means better snaps at night, and generally sharper images, capturing the tiniest detail with the zoom (2x). There is also a portrait mode which blurs the background behind the subject, and the device films well in 4K.

In terms of audio technology, Honor says the phone can simulate surround sound situations such as being in a concert hall. There is also a fingerprint scanner, NFC connectivity, and the phone runs on Android 7.0 with the brand's EMUI 5 skin stuck on top. It will most likely come in Glacier Grey, Sapphire Blue, Midnight Black, Gold, Blue Bird and Robin Egg Blue color variants.
