It appears that more skeletons are still to be unearthed from Dera Sacha Sauda headquarters in Sirsa in the literal sense of the word. According to an exclusive Zee News report, more than 600 skeletons are believed to be buried inside the Dera headquarters in Sirsa.

Sources in the special investigation team (SIT) told Zee News that several skeletons are buried across the massive Dera campus, with saplings planted over them. Some of these saplings are now large trees.

Dera followers, however, believe that this was just a religious ritual and not a criminal act. Dera followers said that 'Baba' Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh – chief of the Dera sect – had ordered the burial of the skeletons to attain 'moksha'.

Speaking to Zee News, former Haryana-based journalist Ramanand Tatia had claimed that if excavations are carried inside the Dera campus, a large number of human skeletons will be found, explaining the mysterious disappearance of nearly 500 people.

The journalist said anyone opposing Singh was brutally murdered and then secretly buried inside the campus.Tatia has suggested that the excavations should be done in the presence of national media.

A CBI special court on August 28 sentenced Gurmeet Ram Rahim Singh to 20 years in prison for raping two sadhvis inside the Dera premises.

A massive search and sanitisation operation was launched inside Dera headquarters after the violence perpetrated by Dera followers.

Secret tunnels and AK-47 magazine cover

Two secret tunnels found by the search team revealed things were really amiss inside the Dera headquarters. A window-like tunnel connecting Ram Rahim's room (Dera Awas) to the room of Sadhvis (Sadhvi Niwas) had shocked everyone. Another fiber tunnel was also found inside Gurmeet Ram Rahim's room. On the second floor of the same room, the search team found an AK-47 magazine cover.

Illegal abortion clinic

The police also discovered an illegal abortion and skin grafting clinics inside the premises.

Cache of licensed weapons

During the sanitisation operation, Haryana police found a stock of 33 licensed arms in September. The cops affirmed that pistols, revolvers, 315-bore rifles and customized armaments were recovered from Ram Rahim’s Sirsa headquarters. An illegal explosive factory was also found during the second day of the search operation.
